Our March News

Posted Wednesday March 6, 2024

Over the last wee while at the Gardens@syd programme, we've said goodbye to two of our Gardens trainees and welcomed four new team members. This programme continues to strengthen young peoples skills and employability by giving them a taste of real work and building their confidence for their future plans.

We also say goodbye to our Partnerships and Contracts Manager, Leisa de Klerk, who has spent the last two years with syd creating invaluable relationships across the government, business and community sectors. We wish Leisa noho ora mai for her next challenge!

We celebrated our work in the community, in particular supporting UniCrew volunteers from the University of Otago, who joined us with our Bikes tīma to create some tangible change in the lifecycle of bicycles in Ōtepoti. We were also able to see the fruits of many young peoples hard work in using pavers from the George Street upgrade physically embed itself on our premises. It's a legacy that will continue far into the future!

Please continue to share this newsletter with your community and get in touch with us for more news! We look forward to hearing from you!
