Young people can make the cut

The Malcam Trust are proud to have a long term association with The Dunedin Botanic Garden.  Through the Malcam @ The Gardens programme, young, first time employees are given a taste of paid work, completing hard surface maintenance and lawn mowing in the pristine setting of the Dunedin Botanic Garden.

And their work scrubs up rather well.  Pictured above is a recent lawn mowing effort by Malcam @ The Gardens cadet Nathan Pooley.  The stripe is just right, which for Gardens supervisor Grant Heydon, is high praise.

"A lot of the young people who come here haven't had much experience with work.  It's about getting them to understand the job, and how they can add the icing."

Next time you're at the Dunedin Botanic Garden, make sure you look out for our Garden's crew.
