sẏd Staff Profile
Michelle Masina is a long-term veteran of sẏd, having been involved with the organisation for a number of years. Here's a bit more about Michelle and why she loves what she does.
1. How did you come to work at Southern Youth Development?I came home from overseas for a friends wedding in 2006 and happend to see the job vacancies in the paper. I popped in for a casual chat with the amazing Malcam (now sẏd) team before flying back for the northern ski season. I loved them, they loved me so I returned a few weeks later to learn the ropes and run the old residential program based out of Alexandra.
2. What's the best thing about your job?Meeting so many amazing young people in our community and seeing those young people over the years achieve all the things they dreamed of.
3. What's one piece of advice that you always give rakatahi?Im not sure it's advice but any opportunity I get to confirm a young person's awesomeness I take it. I am often heard saying "you are awesome" "that was awesome".
